The Nick and Teresa Ryan Family
Bell #21

It's fun to be part of a time capsule and to dream of who might read about us one day.

It's 1999 and we're the Ryan's: Nick, Teresa, Jayla (22), Jeremy (22), Trevor (20), Natalie (19) and Tara(18). Actually Jeremy and Natalie's last name is Rush, since they were already 15 and 10 when I married Teresa in 1991. The "kids" are all special people who are enthusiastic and make us proud!

Teresa is from Independence, Mo. and I'm from Mt. Prospect and we were introduced by my ex-wife, who knew the kind of woman would be good for me and she was right. Teresa is beautiful, spunky and fun.

All 5 kids are in college this year. We’re home alone with our 3 dogs, Buster, Bula, and Max and a cockatiel named Dolly. As "empty-nesters" we decided to remodel our home at 855 Mobile Court, in Hobson West. It's almost 20 years old and needs a kitchen facelift. Now it’s a "resort" with a goldfish pond, hot tub, fitness center, etc. for the kids and future grand kids to come home to.

Naperville is a great town and booming ... thanks in part to me. I own the Marquette Companies with my partners Bruno Bottarelli and Rick Harb. We built Country Lakes Apartments in 1983 and RiverPlace Apartments in 1987, including extending the Riverwalk 1/4 mile to our site, donating the former Netzley House for the Carillon Instruction Center, and the bridge crossing from it to the beach.
We moved my Mom, Grace, to RiverPlace 4 years ago and Teresa’s folks Billy and Virginia Hill, this year, when we converted the building to condominiums. The folks have come home to roost!

Teresa and I love to walk from our house, through the open space and garden plots on West St., with our dogs and around the lake at Sportsman Park. About once a week we walk from our house, about 2 miles to Einstein Bagels for breakfast, or to La Sorella for great Italian food.

We belong to Community Christian Church and are part of the new building campaign for the church at Ogden and Rickert.

The 4th of July is a big event on our street, when we close down the cul-de-sac and have a neighborhood pot luck with a great band called "Cirrus Falcon".

We're sponsoring the dinner dance for New Years Eve 2000 and look forward to a great night of dancing and fireworks. There is a bit of fear of power outage, etc. with the coming of the new millennium and possible computer glitches... we’ll see!!

We wish you as much fun and enjoyment with your family and friends as we're having. See you in heaven!!
