James and Mary Anne Ostrenga moved to Naperville
in 1985 along with their two young daughters, Laura and Lisa. They
built their first Naperville home on the north side of town. Their
daughters attended Beebe School, the girls enjoyed being in the choir
and band, as well as theater. Laura attended Jefferson Jr. High, and
Lisa attended Washington, Jr. High. Both girls graduated from
Naperville North High School.
After moving to Naperville, Mary Anne worked in management for an
educational toy company. Her career enabled Jim and Mary Anne to
travel to many exciting places, including Hawaii, England, France,
and China. Mary Anne served as chairman of the Edward Hospital
Foundation from 1997-2000. Mary Anne continues to be active in the
community as a volunteer on various different boards, including NCO
and the American Parkinson Disease Association, Midwest Chapter.
Dr. James P. Ostrenga, a board certified cardiologist, received his
medical degree from the University of Illinois in 1977. James joined
the medical staff of Edward Hospital in 1982, he served as president
of the medical staff from 1989-1991. In 1988 Dr. Ostrenga founded his
own medical practice, Cardiovascular Consultants of Naperville.
In 1994, James and Mary Anne designed and built a new home in central
Naperville. Mary Anne designed and personally planted all of the
flower gardens, while Jim tends the vegetable garden. Jim's hobbies
include sailing, fishing and kayaking.
Laura and Lisa have grown up to be beautiful young ladies. Laura is a
poet and artist with a passion for sea kayaking and backpacking. She
has traveled and backpacked in several states including Alaska and
Montana. Lisa is artistically talented and is persuing a career in
maketing and public relations.
The Ostrenga family has been blessed with the opportunity to live and
work in the Naperville community. Our wish is for happiness and good
