The Don Lohrentz family owned three different homes in Naperville from 1967 to 2000; 106 Fernwood, 1217 Clyde and 10554 Royal Porthcawl Don was V.P. and Treasurer for Nicor in Naperville, retiring in 1998. Don served on numerous not-for-profit boards, mainly related to the Lutheran church. He also served as Chairman of Concordia Mutual Life Association.

Joyce was an area representative for Campfire. She was very active in community affairs, primarily centering around youth, including drug-free activities. Joyce initiated and presented the "Kids on the Block" disability-awareness program in primary and junior high schools, in Naperville and other surrounding suburbs, for over 20 years. She also started the '"REACH -Responsible Educated Adolescents Can Help" program, which had drug-free teens speaking to junior high students. She received many awards, including the State Board of Education, Jaycees, AAUW, etc. and was President of Illinois Drug Education Alliance, a statewide group. Joyce and Don were both founding members of the Naperville Task Force for Drug Free Youth, later called Community Against Substance Abuse (CASA).

Don and Joyce were members of Bethany Luthenpi Church since 1967.

Don and Joyce had four children, all of which graduated from Naperville Central High. Kirby Ann (now Bruzek) was Homecoming Queen at Central in 1977. Jodi Carol (now Johnson) was Miss Naperville Sesquicentennial in 1981 Whitney Jennifer (now Weber) was on Central's Homecoming court in 1983 Matthew William Herbert went on to get a M.S. from Western Michigan Univ.

All three girls participated in pom-poms and the Music Department shows under John
Pierce.

A new Weber is due in 2001.
