Naperville City Carillonneur Tim Sleep played two special “pops” concerts of non-traditional carillon music. - “Broadway Bells” on July 26 featured songs from Broadway musicals, from Cole Porter to Andrew Lloyd Weber.
- “Island Bells” on Aug. 9 featured laid-back music reminiscent of tropical nights.
The events were free. Many visitors came out to picnic in the park or stroll on the adjacent Riverwalk while enjoying the music.

The Millennium Carillon Foundation and the Naperville Exchange Club are pleased to announce the winners of the BBQ AND A VIEW raffle:
1st Place: Cynthia Frestel Gate admission to Rib Fest and Carillon Observation Deck seating for fire works for ten and one reserved parking space.
2nd Place: Dan Simos Gate admission to Rib Fest and Carillon Observation Deck seating for fireworks for six and one reserved parking space.
3rd Place: Nancy Hermann Gate admission to Rib Fest and Carillon Observation Deck seating for fireworks for four and one reserved parking space.
These lucky winners had their names drawn at a Millennium Carillon Tuesday night concert and enjoyed a night of ribs at Ribfest and a spectacular view of the July 4th fireworks at the observation deck of Moser Tower. Congratulations!

The Millennium Carillon Foundation will host an Open House on Wednesday, June 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Carillon Visitors Center located on the Riverwalk near the Carillon. Come to this informational meeting to learn about volunteer opportunities and the formation of “Friends of the Carillon”. The City Carillonneur will be available to demonstrate the inner workings of the Carillon. For more information or if you cannot attend but are interested, call 630-848-5000 or email: info@napervilleparks.org. Representatives will always be available at the Tuesday night Summer Concert Series for questions and information about volunteering or becoming a “Friend”.
Four recitals are planned for Thanksgiving weekend, including a noon recital Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
Jim Brown, assistant city carillonneur, will play selections based on early American and colonial tunes and themes, along with traditional Thanksgiving selections.
City Carillonneur Tim Sleep will play at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, following the conclusion the downtown holiday lighting parade. Sleep will also perform at noon Saturday, Nov. 24, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, as part of the Hometown Happenings weekend in downtown Naperville.
The recitals will feature traditional, contemporary and popular holiday selections for audiences of all ages.
